Born the 30th of October, 1889, twin to Harald. Passed his matriculation examination in 1908 and attended the Military Academy in 1911. He became a pilot and served in the Royal Guard. He took part in the fighting of 1940 at Snåsa, Namdalen, and Hålogaland. A member of the National Union (NS), he received a sentence of six years' forced labour after the war.
