About the Archive
Upon retiring in 1992, Harald Sundlo undertook to transcribe a selection of his father's notes concerning the family history, and gathered additionally some new information about the Sundlo and Speilberg families. This material was copied and distributed amongst close family members, so that all might know a little more about their origins.
Harald's father, Konrad Bertram Holm Sundlo, had also kept extensive notes from his time amongst Norwegian war volunteers in Russia. A selection of these notes has been transcribed both as family history and as historical documents of their period.
Historical note: Several texts in this archive concern warfare, military
service, and politically sensitive subjects. The documents are published as historical
source material and should be read in their historical context.
