A self-written account of his activities in Liabygda and Stranda. He attended Møre People's High School in 1943–44 and Gjermundnes Agricultural School in 1945. He participated in a remarkable range of organisations: the youth association, the sports club, the parish council (12 years), Stranda Savings Bank (22 years), the forestry association, Storfjord Bus Lines (18 years). He received the 'Forest Prize' of Møre og Romsdal Forestry Landowners' Association in 1986, and led 70 Norwegian young people on a tree-planting expedition to Iceland in 1965. In the summer of 2000 he suffered a stroke and moved to a nursing home.
