From Diedrichshagen; his father, Peter, is described as a 'crofter'. One of three brothers on the German Wharf (Tyskebryggen). He served as gesell (journeyman) under Jacob Rich; became a burgess of Bergen on the 18th of July, 1715. Buried at the Church of the Cross (Korskirken) on the 31st of March, 1727.
