One of three brothers from Diedrichshagen — some 11 km north-west of Rostock — who came to the German Counting House in Bergen as apprentices. Michel arrived in 1770, aged 17, in the service of Jacob Kleno. He is not mentioned again and is assumed to have died shortly thereafter.
