From Øverland's Norwegian History: Halfdan the Black drowned in the spring of 860 during the break-up of the ice on Lake Randsfjorden. His remains were distributed among four regions of the country for burial — an arrangement that, whilst anatomically inconvenient, evidently satisfied the various parties concerned.
